Please include the contact details of two endorsers for your application who:
We will be contacting these endorsers via email to request that they write a brief letter relating to the leadership they have seen from you and the leadership learning that they believe you would benefit from.
Association with you:
We would appreciate you including a brief Curriculum Vitae for yourself to accompany your responses to the questions below.
Having a place where you can put your leadership learning into practice and from which you can bring your leadership experiences to be considered further is critical to making this leadership development experience real. Please note that a leadership environment does not necessarily need to be somewhere where you have a formal leadership position.
What environment (work, family, community etc.) are you currently a part of where you could practise and utilise your leadership development learning over the next 18 months?
Tell us about...
We believe that learning about leadership requires an ability to be curious and reflective about the experiences that you have. In this question we are not 'rating' the size or importance of this experience instead we would like to know about what you learnt from it.
Please describe a personal experience you consider as EITHER:
A highlight OR a lowlight in your "leadership life"
Tell us what you learned from this experience e.g. What surprised you? What did you notice? What did it make you realise about yourself, others or leadership? What could have been done differently?
Our programme will challenge you to express your ideas of leadership in different ways and use diverse mediums to explore, challenge and expand your current views.
a) Please attach a photo or image that creatively:
b) Please explain why you chose this image and what it means to you in terms of leadership.
This programme does not provide you with a set of answers as to what leadership is. Instead we expect that each person brings their own perspectives and aspirations about leadership and that this will assist you to engage in the programme in ways that are most effective for you.
Imagine it is in the future and you have completed the Future Leaders Programme. Describe the leader you are, the nature and impact of your relationships with others, and the difference you are making. Please describe in enough detail for us to get a strong sense of what you are thinking, feeling, doing, achieving as a leader (min 300 words).
In order to be involved in the programme, you need a strong commitment to leadership and learning. On our website we have set out what that commitment means in terms of things such as time per week, attendance at residentials and financial input. However there are other forms of commitment that you can consider.
What motivated you to apply for the Future Leaders programme?
If you are accepted on to this programme how will you demonstrate your commitment to make good use of this opportunity and the possibilities ahead of you?
Is there anything that would impede intensive long term learning for you? (your answer to this does not indicate non-acceptance into the programme, it merely allows for full transparency and further discussion of issues.)
