Programme outline and content

We recognise that to make an informed decision, it is important to understand the key areas we will be exploring together. Below we have provided an indication of the development themes and example activities, however we do so cautiously with the consideration of our strong development philosophy that focuses on:

  • Learning leadership with and through experiences (not just learning about leadership);
  • Learning from peers and one's own experiences (not just learning only from leadership experts and facilitators);
  • Being flexible and responsive to the emerging needs of a specific group and global research/insights into leadership (as opposed to putting people through a pre-determined process).

Development Themes and Indicative Content Areas

The key development themes for the previous Hillary Leadership Programme are outlined below as a guideline.

We expect that the nature and sequencing of the content areas will shift for future Hillary Programmes to best meet the specific needs of participants and to incorporate key insights from our own and international leadership research.
