Leadership Research
Excelerator: New Zealand Leadership Institute undertakes leadership research in order to shake up the leadership concept a little (actually a lot), bring a fresh antipodean perspective to a well established northern hemisphere tradition, and most of all to find out what leadership looks like on the ground when stripped away from its rhetoric.
Our current research areas include:
- Leadership and identity,
- Leadership as practice,
- Authenticity, and
- Leadership development theory and design
Examples of our current research include a more critical exploration of the concept of authenticity, the nature of doubt, belief and confidence and understanding the interplay of these in moments of leadership crisis and difficulty.
As active participants in the global leadership research environment, we contribute our insights internationally as well as for use in New Zealand organisations and communities. We hold a number of significant international research partnerships which enable the interchange of ideas, the capacity to stay leading edge both theory and practice wise, and the ability to attract some of the leading scholars in the field to our shores.
