Organisational Leadership Programme
Excelerator offers in-house Leadership Development Programmes for organisations. Each programme is customised to the needs of each organisation, but incorporates the following principles:
- Focuses on collective leadership capacity across an organisation.
- Integrates a career development component.
- Will use case studies and relevant research from the organisation as opportunities to study leadership capability.
- Will utilise real projects focussed on organisational goals as ‘learning in action’.
- Will be linked to the organisation’s key business drivers.
Why do we have an Organisational Leadership Programme?
Business for the future
Forward thinking organisations in New Zealand recognise the crucial role they play in building tomorrow's society through advancing economic development and social progress. But never before has business faced such an environment of complexity and fast paced change. In this context effective leadership increases capacity throughout the organisation to create new possibilities and responses to the changing environment.
Excelerator is working closely with our corporate partners to co-design leadership development opportunities which embrace the current challenges and profound issues which business currently faces.
Relevant and realistic
Excelerator Organisational Leadership programmes are firmly grounded within the organisational realities of everyday life, whilst designed to also tap into the individual and collective aspirations and purpose which drives any worthwhile change.
Most organisations have moved beyond the myth of the "hero leader", the one exceptional CEO or senior executive who provides the single vision for the direction of the organisation. More relevant today is the power of leadership behaviours and mindset that are embedded at all levels of the organisation.
Beyond simplistic solutions
Together participants and programme facilitators identify the critical leadership questions across the organisation. Instead of jumping to simplistic and technical solutions, participants are encouraged to work with complexity of their environment. This increases organisational capacity and ensures lasting, long term, ethical results which meet the needs of the organisation, individuals and teams, as well as the communities which they serve.
The long term nature of the leadership development programmes (18 months) ensure that issues are explored fully and potential can be sustainably embedded within the organisation. This is not a week long, quick fix, "put the manual on the shelf" opportunity.
World class
Through conversation with world class Business Schools such as Wharton, Insead Duke and Harvard, and by being involved in research of best practice for leadership development, the Organisational Leadership Programmes are informed by a locally developed and internationally recognised framework.

Future Programmes
If you would like to discuss the opportunity to create a customised Organisational Programme for your organisation, please contact Mark Bentley.
"The programme has helped evolve the way I lead, from a short term 'managing the business' approach to a longer term 'leading the business approach'. It has unlocked the power of reflection, and of learning through experience - both my own and others."
