Hillary Leadership Programme
Senior leaders within organisations often feel isolated and unsupported. They are frequently the people who others look to for the 'answers', and as a result they seldom feel they have the flexibility to experiment with new and innovative ways of working or to display uncertainty at times of crisis.
In response to this, the Hillary Leadership Programme is constructed to provide a forum where these senior leaders can let their guard down, ask difficult questions, explore novel ideas and practice new behaviours.
Real change in your leadership thinking and action doesn't happen by looking in the mirror or just within your own backyard. In stepping out of your everyday context, new light can be shed on challenges and fresh insights gained from other participants who share similar leadership responsibilities but within very different industries and organisations.
However new insights mean nothing unless they are acted upon. This programme has been designed to walk alongside you in your own leadership context. In this sense, it is not 'just another commitment to fit in' but is intentionally weaved into the work that you are already doing within your organisation or community in a way that transforms the way you see and enact leadership.
The programme is very purposefully named after Excelerator's patron Sir Edmund Hillary in order to encourage you to take courageous risks, break new ground, sustain a commitment to working with complex challenges and create impact beyond your immediate environment.

"The programme has helped me to find myself as a leader - to be able to take different perspectives and better understand who I am and how I affect others through my leadership. Prior to undertaking the programme, I didn't really know why or how my leadership affected others. I have found this aspect of the programme really useful. A number of my colleagues and direct reports comment on that. I am different and have changed. The programme has exceeded my expectations, increased my awareness and has already turned me into a better leader than when I started."
