Cancellation Policy

Our contract with you commences when we write to confirm that we have accepted you onto the programme.  We regret that a fee must be charged when confirmed places are cancelled.  Cancellation charges are as follows:

More than 57 days prior to the programme commencement date:

Total refund of programme fees

More than 34 days but less than 56 days prior to the programme commencement date:

50% refund of programme fees

More than 14 days but less than 33 days prior to the programme commencement date

25% refund of programme fees

Less than 14 days prior to the programme commencement date

No refund of programme fees

Transfers:

We regret that we are unable to transfer a place to a later programme, free of charge, within the eight week period proceeding the start of the programme originally booked, as it is seldom possible for us to fill the space at short notice.  Withdrawal and transfer to a later programme at this stage will therefore be subject to the cancellation charges detailed above.  Further, if you wish to nominate a substitute, they must undergo the same selection process and be accepted by Excelerator.  If a suitable replacement is not found, the above cancellation charges will apply.

Once the participant has started the programme:

Programme participation cannot be cancelled, postponed or curtailed and all fees are due as per original agreement.  If someone withdraws during the first eight weeks of the programme and a suitable replacement can be found (meeting the Excelerator participant criteria) then participation can be transferred to another person within the same organisation.  After that time, replacements are not possible and no refund of fees will be made.

In case of serious illness, participants can elect to be transferred to a subsequent Hillary Leadership Programme. No refund of fees will be made.

In the event that a participant leaves his or her organisation and so withdraws from the programme, and where the participant's employer has paid the programme fees, Excelerator will, on a case by case basis, consider refunding part of those programme fees.  In making its decision, Excelerator will take into consideration:

  • The extent to which the participant and the organisation have worked to find alternatives for covering the costs of the programme (for example, approaching any new employer with a request to fund the remaining period of the programme)
  • Whether the organisation is a not-for-profit organisation, or would otherwise be significantly financially disadvantaged by the situation.

Any amount refunded will be calculated less 20% of the total programme fee and pro-rated to the nearest full month.  Excelerator reserves the right not to refund any or part of the programme fees, and is not bound to do so.
