Our Purpose

To enhance the understanding of leadership in New Zealand and take action to ensure the country has talented and skilled leaders who will develop, guide and advance our organisations and communities.

We have created a place where:

• Academic theory and everyday practice about leadership can be shared
• Leaders from across sectors, regions and mindsets can converse and act together
• Global and local new leadership thinking can be examined, debated and translated 
• Informed action follows awareness and reflection

Excelerator holds a unique position through having strong partnerships with both the University and private sector organisations. This has enabled our organisation to develop academic collaborations and rigour in addition to being strongly connected to different dynamics of the New Zealand context.  

One of our ongoing priorities is to ensure that through our activities we encourage and support an active, sustainable network for innovative leadership thinking, action and impact in New Zealand that extends far beyond the individuals and organisations that we can directly connect with.

Our Partners

The University of Auckland Business School joined with a group of enlightened national organisations to launch Excelerator in an innovative partnership committed to lifting the quality of leadership in New Zealand.

The current partners of Excelerator are Westpac, the Tindall Foundation, Deloitte, Hudson, DB Breweries, Woolf Fisher Trust and the Cawthron Trust.

These partners are unanimous in their belief that greater understanding about leadership and development of high quality leadership in our organisations and communities can bridge the performance gap between our country's aspirations and attaining exceptional achievement in all walks of life.
